Konomi Festival: Kimono fitting experience
We are pleased to share that Aine will be participating in the Konomi Festival Basel again this year.
If you have ever wondered what a Japanese kimono is or how it is traditionally worn, this is an ideal moment to experience it firsthand, admire the intricacy of craftsmanship and capture the moment with photos. We offer private one-hour sessions for pairs, allowing each guest to receive personal attention. Miki from Aine will guide you through the selection, explain the cultural background, and dress you step by step.
Come with a friend, family member, or partner and experience a facet of Japan— without travelling 13.000km!
Update 1 April: THANK YOU, SOLD OUT!
Matcha & Ceramic Painting Experience Zug
Collaboration event: Creative You x Aine
By popular demand, we are running a second session in Zug on May 22nd at Creative You, a place where you can explore your inner artist; a love affair of design, art, creativity & community. (https://www.creative-you.ch/)
This collaborative workshop combines the art of Japanese matcha with creative ceramic painting in one seamless experience. Participants will be guided by Miki through an immersive introduction to Japanese tea culture, learning about the philosophy, aesthetics, and mindful practices behind the matcha ritual. The experience includes both observation and hands-on participation, allowing guests to connect deeply with the tradition.
Participants will experience:
A guided demonstration of a Japanese matcha ritual
Hands-on instruction in preparing matcha using traditional tools
One bowl of freshly prepared matcha to enjoy during the session
A Japanese tea sweet to complement and soften the flavor of the tea
A take-home packet of single-use premium matcha powder
One bamboo whisk to continue the experience at home
Alongside the matcha ritual, participants will take part in a guided ceramic painting session led by Creative You. Each guest will paint their own matcha bowl, with our artist offering guidance on how to work with beautiful colors and techniques. This creative moment encourages personal expression while crafting a meaningful, functional object to be used in future tea rituals.
The workshop is designed to feel calm, expressive, and intentional — blending cultural tradition with creativity and leaving participants with both a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture and a hand-painted matcha bowl they created themselves.
